This paper studies the conicity tolerance for tilted cones and develops mathematical relationships for the non-linear Least Squares Method for evaluating conicity. A non-linear optimization procedure is also developed to evaluate the minimum tolerance zone for cones. The Least Squares solution is then compared against the solution obtained through the non-linear minimum zone method. Each of these models is validated with real data obtained using a commercial coordinate measuring machine (CMM).
