ELECTROCHEMICAL DEBURRING (ECD) IS A PROCESS THAT USES SALT WATER AND LOW VOLTAGE TO SELECTIVELY DISSOLVE BURRS FROM METAL WORKPIECES. TYPICALLY, 20 TO 30 SECONDS IS REQUIRED TO COMPLETELY DISSOLVE ALL BURRS FROM INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL EDGES. A HIGH DEGREE OF REPEATABILITY AND PRODUCTIVITY IS ACHIEVED BY ELIMINATING THE VARIANCES THAT ARE TYPICAL OF MANUAL OR UNCONTROLLED PROCESSES. AS MANY AS 25-30 PARTS CAN BE DEBURRED PER CYCLE IN A SEMIAUTOMATIC TO FULLY AUTOMATIC MACHINE.
