This paper attempts to develop a numerical simulation method to investigate the cladding mechanism by an extrusion process. We developed a Rigid Plastic FEM code in order to introduce friction and cold welding mechanism to the simulation. Extrusion processes of bimetallic rods are simulated with the code. The simulation clarified the cladding mechanism in a bimetallic rod extrusion and effects of forming conditions on cladding properties. Slide on the interface is very important to develop cladding.
