Until recently, the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) curricular models project has concentrated on manufacturing education within the United States. The curricula 2002 Report recognized the need for international benchmarking in a global context for manufacturing education. This paper reports on comparison of manufacturing education models in Canada and the world. The manufacturing engineering program and innovative collaborative research projects at the University of Windsor are reviewed in detail.
