A quantitative microbial risk assessment (QMRA) approach was developed and has been exploredin Canada both as a means for supporting drinking water guideline values (treatment goals) forenteric viruses and protozoa, and for carrying out site-specific assessments at several drinkingwater treatment facilities. The experience of using a QMRA approach and computer model forthese purposes is discussed. Includes abstract only.
