This study focuses on the evaluation of existing programs, steps that led to the decisionto apply for a Water Security Initiative Grant, and challenges associated with the mobilization ofresources for staff hiring and contractor procurement. The New York City Contamination WarningDemonstration Pilot (CWSDP) builds on existing programs and will enhance their outputthrough expansion of monitoring programs and the development of an enhanced dataacquisition platform or dashboard. The dashboard will provide data integration from various datastreams (continuous water quality monitoring data, consumer calls, syndromic surveillance, andsecurity) and will also be the common link for hydraulic modeling and consequencemanagement. Mobilization of resources (staffing and procurement) represents major challengesthat need to be accounted for in the CWSDP timeline. Includes abstract only.
