The objectives of this slide presentation were to: determine the capabilities of each product; detect total coliform and E. coli in three chemically diverse Wisconsin groundwaters;determine the ability of each product to accurately quantify the number of total coliforms and E. coli in Wisconsin groundwaters;determine the ability of each test to suppress Aeromonas spp.; and, determine the unit cost for each test system.Three sampling sites representing geographicallyand chemically diverse groundwaters were selected and chemical analysis was conducted eachtime a collection was made from each site. Some methods were unable to detect certainspecies of total coliform in Wisconsingroundwaters.Major differences were seen in the ability ofeach test to quantify amounts of total coliform and E. coli.Vast dissimilarities were seen between methodsand strains to suppress Aeromonas spp.
