Spatial configuration included:a comparison of square footage per milliongallon of water treated; and, selection ofeight utilities that were similar to WaterOne inplant capacity and population served. Laboratories included in spatialconfiguration were:wet chemistry laboratory;organic laboratory;inorganic laboratory;microbiological laboratory;sample receiving area; and, sample preparation area. Components of the Emergency Response Plan included:a survey focusing on any equipment andanalyses created by the utility's EmergencyResponse Plan;nearly all the utilities surveyed are investigatingcertain rapid toxicity testing systems(i.e. Microtox® or Eclox®); and, equipment has been purchasedand staff and space has been dedicated at utilities where these systems and methods are practiced Includes tables, figures.
