The first objective of this work was to examine the effect of pH and phosphate on theadsorption of arsenic onto freshly precipitated Fe(III) (hydr)oxides. Secondly, the effect ofoxidant type used to oxidize both iron and arsenic on the removal of arsenic from water wasstudied. Bench and field studies were used to meet the objectives. Arsenic treatmentrecommendations were made based on experimental observations. Includes 7 references, figures.
