The objective of this research was to studythe physical properties of iron particles in water formed following the oxygenation of Fe[II] to Fe[III]. Characterization included the determination of particle size, shape, morphology and mineralogical phase, and electrostatic charge. Particle properties were compared to aesthetic water quality parameters such as apparent and true color, and turbidity. The impact of water quality including oxygen, iron, pH, dissolved inorganic carbon, and phosphate on particle properties and water quality were evaluated. Includes 3 references, figures.
