This study summarizes the results of a case study toassess the impact of background organic matter reduction on the biostability of a distribution system. The effluent of the Vigneux-sur-Seine, France, water treatment plant and ten points of its distribution system were monitored over a two-year period beforeand after the implementation of a powdered activated carbon-ultrafiltration process.
