The City of Glendale is located in southern Arizona within the Greater PhoenixMetropolitan area, approximately ten miles west of downtown Phoenix, Arizona. Glendale isArizona's fourth largest community and like many communities in Arizona and thesouthwest United States, continues to experience tremendous growth. With this growth and concernsover water availability in Arizona, Glendale continues to plan and implement water, wastewater, and reclaimed projects to meet the needs of its population. This paperdescribes a recent planning effort for recycling reclaimed wastewater in thewestern portion of Glendale's service area. The paper discusses historical wastewater planning, previous strategic planning for reuse, the geographic location of the study area, the existing water recycling facilities in the area, effluent availability and flow projections, water quality considerations, and future end use options. Includes 18 references, tables, figures.
