The Irvine Ranch Water District (IRWD) supplies irrigation and domestic water fora rapidly developing metropolitan community in Irvine, California. Thecornerstone of IRWD's extensive reclaimed water program is the development of adual distribution system. This paper discusses IRWD's Wetlands Water Supplyproject and the Green Acres Project (GAP) Intertie which is a cooperative projectbetween IRWD, Orange County Water District (OCWD), and the city of Newport Beach(CNB). The GAP project will convey excess winter production of reclaimed waterfrom the Michelson Water Reclamation Plant (MWRP) to end-users located outsideIRWD, under service agreements with OCWD and the city of Newport Beach.
