The City of Scottsdale's Water Campus is a new state-of-the-art water andwastewater treatment complex located on a 141-acre site in Scottsdale, Arizona.It includes a 54 million gallon per day (mgd) surface water treatment plant, a12 mgd water reclamation plan, and a 10 mgd advanced water treatment plantincluding microfiltration and reverse osmosis along with 27 vadose zone injectionwells. At the heart of the complex is a major indirect potable reuse program withan annual groundwater recharge target in excess of 15,000 acre feet. This paperhighlights the initial start-up and operation of the reclamation,microfiltration, reverse osmosis and recharge wells which took place from Octoberof 1998 through October of 1999.
