The purpose of this study was to evaluate the resistance of aerobic spores to chlorination, ozonation and chlorine dioxide in laboratory conditions. The impact of pH was also assessed for each type of disinfectant. During our experiments, two strains of aerobic spore-former (ASF) were inactivated in order to evaluate the variation of resistance between species of a same genus. Also, CTs were compared with that given for Giardia in the Surface Water Treatment Rule Guidance Manual.
