This paper describes the implementation and benefits of an Inductively Coupled Plasma-Mass Spectrometer (ICP-MS) and presents data on the effect of spike concentration on precision and accuracy of selected determinations. The experimental section of this paper examines the effect of analyte concentration on some quality characteristics of analytical methods. Experiments were conducted in which the accuracy and precision of determinations were assessed as a function of spike concentration. Standard solutions were then prepared at concentrations above and below previously calculated MDLs. The objectives of these experiments were to determine how % Recovery and % Relative Standard Deviation (RSD) varied at different spike concentrations.
