The objective of the study is to evaluate membrane treatment technology to determine which processes are technically feasible for brackish water desalination of Cape May City Wells using available water quality information and previous applications. Reverse Osmosis (RO) and Electrodialysis Reversal (EDR) are both membrane processes used primarily for the removal of dissolved solids. Feasibility of these two processes to treat Cape May City Wells will be examined. The performance and cost of each process will be estimated using computer models which simulate membrane performance over a range of operating conditions.
