The objectives of this powerpoint presentation were to: characterize natural organic matter (NOM) and to define NOM "signatures"in seawater and estuarine water reverse osmosis (RO) systems; and, evaluate the effectiveness of NOM removal bypretreatment processes used for RO systems(Coagulation + DMF, MF, beach well). Analytical techniques to measure NOM include:liquid chromatography coupled with multipledetectors (LC-OCD-OND);fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR); and, fluorescence excitation emission matrix (F-EEM). Includes tables, figures.
