Automation and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) projects at water treatment plants are very user-specific undertakings. The true cost of ownership (TCO) factors for a small, single server SCADA application are considerably different than the factors involved in the automation of a large process plant that includes construction elements and may have a multi-year cycle.
