The objectives of this research study were to: 1) evaluate how the concentration and relative molecular weight distribution of the organic matter present in water affects (a) the degree of iron complexation observed, and (b) the ability of various oxidants to oxidize the complexed iron; 2) evaluate how the addition of oxidants such as KMn04, C102, and free chlorine affect the removal of complexed Fe(II).
