The experience described in this paper demonstrates that co-current tower aeration is both economical and practical for removal of radon concentration below 5000 pCi/L. The paper concludes that 90 percent removal of radon can be achieved in a counter-current stripping tower with ten feet of packing, a surface loading rate of 30 gpm/ft. and air:water ratio of 15:1.
