This study begins by providing a brief overview of the city of Georgetown, Texas, and the Brazos River Authority's water supply reservoirs. Study objectives included two fundamental options for meetingdemand, increase supply (expensive) andreduce demand through conservation/reuse, along with the objective of implementing water conservation programs in Georgetown to ensure water supply for the future. An analysis of both residential and non-residential water usage is presented, along with non-revenue water use projections, considerations for water conservation analysis, central Texas climate, and reclaimed water system of irrigation. A residential irrigation study is presented of the Sun CityConservation Pilot that studiedthe feasibility of a2-day-per-weekwatering schedule, and the effect offeedback and wateraudit on water demand. Pilot study conclusions indicated the following: irrigation schedule with feedback and wateraudit results in water conservation; conservation can also be achieved on a 3-day schedule; shallow soil depths make implementation ofa 2-day schedule problematic; and, current block rate structure has limitedinfluence on water conservation withoutfeedback. A plan of action, demand goals with conservation, and demand projections with conservation are presented along with further conclusions that indicate: with conservation Georgetown may be ableto meet water demand with current supply; irrigation is main focus of conservation plan; water use study allows Georgetown to trackprogress; and, understanding the customer and region mayresult in a more successful conservationeffort.
