Existing MPA methods and limitations are presented, along withproposed improved MPA Method, demonstration study and RBF field sites, results of demonstration study, andcomplementary column studies. Conclusions from scouringtransport studies indicate the following:colmation zone is not the only governingfactor for disproportionate removal ofcolloids near the surface water source,colloid population heterogeneity;colloid transport complex and furtherstudies necessary; and,transport understanding essential toidentify appropriate indicators of transport.
