This slide presentation outlines the effectiveness of Blending of Chemical and Heat Treatment (B.C.H.T", ARCC Inc, Florida) on Microbiologically Influenced Biofouling (MIB). M.I.B.was monitored using BART testers both prior to, and following all of the BCHT treatments. Recoveries were determined by changes in the specific capacity (Q/s) and extensions in the time lapses. The BART Testers tell the story of when the M.I.B. is likely to cause failures through time lapses shortening reaction patterns changing. In all cases, M.I.B. events had caused production losses, but were controlled effectively by BCHT modified to local conditions. Over 6,000 wells have been successfully regenerated using BCHT in north America (>40% improvement towards original Q/s). These include: wells at hazardous waste sites; municipal wells; drains; and, pipelines. Effective treatment applications based on B.C.H.T returned these wells to acceptable water qualitieswhile the specific capacities (Q/s) were returned significantly (generally >40%) towards the original pre-M.I.B. impact state.
