This slide presentation outlines information on developing ultraviolet (UV) dose response curves forcarbon-filtered water spiked with"emerging microbes." Topics covered include:adenovirus;toxoplasma gondii oocysts;mycobaterium terrae;V-1 phage as an additional viral indicator; and, determine synergistic effects between UVand chlorine for the above microbes. Results include these observations: Cryptosporidium was (target protozoa forLT2ESWTR) effectively inactivated;UV followed by chlorine effectively inactivated ALLthe microbes/surrogated tested;there were no significant byproducts formation atthe doses tested (40-140 mJ/cm2) for both LP andMP; and, synergistic effect between UV and chlorine was notapparent.
