The Seminole Tribe of Florida (STOF) consists of five reservations throughout Florida. The STOF iscurrently implementing an overall capital improvement program to all of the water andwastewater treatment facilities at various reservations, including the Hollywood and BrightonReservations.This paper focuses on the selection and design of pressure membranesystems required for the water plants at the Hollywood and Brighton Reservations. Selection anddesign of the membrane process for both water treatment plants will include the following items:selection and design of pretreatment process required to prevent fouling of the pressuremembranes;pre- and post- chemical treatment;selection and design of a membrane system that will allow treatment for potential salt waterintrusion at the Hollywood Plant;selection and design of membrane system that will allow staging and limited operation to meetcurrent and future system demands; and,chemical treatment of the permeate to maintain stable water quality conditions in thedistribution system.
