The primary objective of this study is to develop a unified understanding of the impact of theinteraction between water quality, pretreatment chemicals, membrane materials, and configurations onmembrane performance. This ongoing project includes three phases: bench-scale testing; pilot-scale study; and, full-scale evaluation. The major findings and performance data from the full-scale systems evaluation are summarizedand serve as the foundation for developing a general guidance to assist in optimizing MF/UFmembrane treatment for direct and clarified water filtration. Includes table, figures.
